Demolition orders for water infrastructure in A’tuf area
On 4th December occupation forces issued new demolition orders to Al-Furat Agricultural Company, which is owned by the sons of the late Hajj Fakhri Muhammad Ali in the Baqi’a Plain. The demolition orders are for a water reservoir, that collects rainwater for agricultural use, and for a water pipeline. They are both on land between Kirbet Yirza and A’tuf that the occupation forces is confiscating to build their new 22km wall. This wall will isolate Palestinian farmers from Tammun and A’tuf areas from the majority of their farmland.
Rashid Khurairi said:
“The occupation continues its policy of restrictions… confiscating agricultural land and issuing orders for Palestinians to evacuate entire areas. Even water pipelines have not been spared the threat of confiscation. What is happening is the direct targeting of the presence of Palestinian farmers on their land.”
The two demolition orders shown are for a water reservoir and a water pipeline. They state that the land is being confiscated and that the farmer must remove the water reservoir/water pipeline themself within the next 7 days. If they do not so the water reservoir/water pipeline will be forcibly removed by the occupation forces and the farmer will be charged the full costs of the removal. These charges are always very exorbitant to increase the pressure on Palestinians to demolish their own structures and leave the area.
