Settlers cut water and electricity supplies to Fasayil al Wusta family
In recent weeks Fasayil al Wusta, in the Jordan Valley, has seen an escalation in settler violence.
On 14th February, settlers cut access to the water mains leaving the family with no water in their home. As a result the family relied on neighbours and filling buckets from their outdoor water tank. On 17th February, one settler cut two slits in the family’s outdoor water tank, their last remaining water source. Tanks of water costs around 3000 shekels, so this is a huge loss for the family.
On the night of February 20th, settlers drove their vehicle into an electricity pole adjacent to the family’s home. The pole collapsed, putting the family in danger and depriving them of electricity.
The settlers also kept up their daily practices of harassment and intimidation, including: trespassing on the family’s property and bringing their sheep and cows to graze; circling the property with their ATV to intimidate the family; sitting outside the home playing loud music for hours; filming and recording the family.

On multiple occasions, settlers also attempted to enter the family home.
On February 23rd, the settlers further escalated their efforts to displace the Palestinian family by setting up an outpost within 50m of their house, including fences to keep their cows permanently on the family’s property.
This family are remaining steadfast, despite the appalling intimidation and violence they are experiencing. They are an inspiration.
