At 2.30pm 1st April a young man from Al Hadidiya, Ghazi Bisharat was arrested whilst herding his sheep in Al Hadidiya, near the land that Roi settlement has stolen from the community. He is just 19 years old and the son of Abu Saqr. His family saw the army take him, but were given no information about why he’d been arrested, where he was taken, how long he’d be held, or what he’d been arrested for. He was released 4 hours later.

The same young man was beaten by Israeli soliders just a week ago. See http://www.jordanvalleysolidarity.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=199:abu-saqers-sons-arrested-and-beaten-by-soldiers&catid=15:2010&Itemid=21

This harrassment is not new, but is part of the Israeli Army’s persistent harrassment of this community who live surrounded by settlements and military bases, and refuse to be intimidated into leaving their homes and their land.
