Settlers vandalize more than 150 olive trees in the Qa‘oun Plain of Bardala village, northern Jordan Valley

October 14, 2025
The coordinator of the Save the Jordan Valley Campaign, Rashid Khudairi, reported that groups of settlers this Tuesday morning cut down and damaged more than 150 olive trees in the Qa‘oun Plain, in the village of Bardala in the northern Jordan Valley.
The trees belong to local resident Sultan Rashid Mabsalat.

Citizen Mohammad Sultan Mabsalat stated that the attack caused severe damage to the old olive trees, which represent the main source of livelihood for his family. He pointed out that these acts are part of a series of ongoing violations targeting Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest season.

Khudairi explained that such acts destroy families’ sources of income, undermine local food security, and make it increasingly difficult for residents to remain steadfast on their lands, which they have cultivated for decades.

He added that the continuation of these attacks reflects a systematic policy by settlers against Palestinian agricultural lands, calling for urgent action to protect the land and farmers and to ensure their resilience.
Khudairi affirmed that these actions constitute a clear violation of international law and Palestinian property rights, warning of the dangers of the ongoing and repeated violations carried out through various means and policies aimed at displacing Palestinians and seizing their land.
