Farmers from Bardala, in the northern Jordan Valley, are coming together with local activists to send fresh vegetables to the people of Bethlehem. This morning, 18th March, farmers harvested fresh vegetables, packed them into crates, and loaded them onto pallets.

They are now being transported to the people of Bethlehem who are under a blockade due to the number of coronavirus cases in the city. With more than 40 cases of coronavirus in the city there are fears that people will not be able to get enough food to sustain themselves and keep themselves healthy. Rashid, from Jordan Valley Solidarity, was with the farmers and activists and said: “We, as Palestinian activists can spread the idea of social solidarity. We can work together as a community to defeat this virus.”
