Families forced to leave their homes on Eid al Adha
Today, 14th October 2013, Occupation forces gave notices to nine families stating that they must leave their homes so that Israeli occupation forces can carry out military training where they live. The families have been given less than 24 hours notice, that on one of the key Muslim festivals of the year, when they should be celebrating with their families and friends, they will be cast out of their homes. In all, 70 people, including 35 children, in the communities of Al Meiteh and Al Borg (Al Maleh district) in the northern of the Jordan Valley will be forced to leave their homes from 5am in the morning to 9pm at night.
Palestinian families in this area have had all their land declared a ‘closed military zone’ and military training in the hills near their homes is common-place, making them live under constant threat of injury to themselves, their children and their animals. See Military Control for more details.
This community have also been subjected to demolition of their homes by the occupation forces in May 2011.
