On the 25th January, Palestinians from the Jordan Valley that participated to the workshop “Activ Citizen” (JVS, Ma’an Development, British Council) few weeks ago, had a tour in the Jordan Valley.

Indeed many of them visited for the first the all area.

They had the tour with the Jordan Valley Solidarity volunteers and visited key places where the situation is critical and where JVS achieved a lot.

The first place they visited was the Fasayel schoool, in the South, built by JVS volunteers in area C.

Children of the school welcomed them singing songs.

Then they stopped in Abu Aljaj Bedouin community, subjected to demolitions and attacks from settlers and soldiers as Mesoha settlement is expending.

Then they stopped in JVS Community House in Jiftlik.

They saw the way JVS volunteers make mud bricks and renovate old buildings.

Then they passed by Al Farsiya area where JVS linked water from Ein Il Beida.

They also stepped for a while in Ein Il Hilwe tent school that hosts about 35 kids everyday since last November. They saw the the situation of the Bedouin children surrounded by settlements.

Finally they had a break in Al Hadidiya, where they ate lamb on fire, cooked in a traditional way.

At the end of the day, they all agreed to make a project together to link Al Hadidya community to water.

JVS volunteers were very happy to enable people from the area to know better their land and its situation.

We believe that knowing and seeing with your one eyes is the first step to be activ.
