Brighton JVS : Dispatches from Palestine -A report back meeting from a JVS delegation
“We’ll rebuild Palestine from the Earth upwards. We succeeded in Fasayil and now we’ll move on the rest of the Jordan Valley. Yalla! (Lets go!)” Fathe Khadirat, speaking about building mud brick schools in the Jordan Valley… come to the report back from the latest Brighton Jordan Valley Solidarity (formally known as Tubas group) delegation…
In April 2011 a Brighton Jordan Valley Solidarity (JVS) delegation went out to the Jor…dan Valley, to gain a better knowledge of the current situation in the area and the rest of Palestine, and support the grassroots resistance of JVS.
The ethnic cleansing of Palestinians is steadily increasing and whilst we were there we witnessed house demolitions, violence and harassment by the Israeli Army & Settlers. In supporting the resistance to the Israeli Military Occupation we participated in demonstrations, planting olive trees, and the building of a new school.
We have come back angry and inspired, and would like to invite you to come and hear about how the delegation went and how you can get involved in the group here in Brighton or over in Palestine.
Please spread the word,
Brighton JVS
