Dear Friends of Jordan Valley Solidarity

This is a urgent funding appeal. On 31st October at 6am some of our new Friends Meeting House collapsed. As you may know we have been forced to leave our old meeting house in Al Jiftlik, and move to Fasayil after the split in Jordan Valley Solidarity.

Here in Fasayil we have been given an old mud brick house, which was built before 1967, more than 60 years ago. The house was in bad condition when we moved in and we have started repairing and rebuilding some of it, but have also been waiting for funding.

On the night of 30th October, after heavy rain, our basement got flooded which weakened some of the structure. As a result, some of the basement walls collapsed leaving big cracks in the upsairs rooms, as well as destroying some of the walls in the second level.

This has made it impossible and dangerous to live in more than half of the house. Currently we have no access to the shower, toillet or kitchen. We still have one room left upstairs and the terrace as well as some of the downstairs rooms which also need renovating before we are able to use them.  We will be demolishing some of the house that has been destroyed and rebuilding it with mud bricks.

As you know we we are currently circulating a petition to reclaim our old meeting house in Al Jiftlik as it is not being used for its intended purpose. We are hoping to get the old Friends meeting house back but we still need to renovate the house in Fasaiyl which we will be able to use as a second meeting house in the south of the Jordan Valley.

We ask you as our friends an supporters to donate as much or little as possible so we can start working to rebuild our Friends Meeting House and continue with our campaign.

Thank you for your support.
