“Funded by the occupation government, settlers are quietly and silently working to erase Palestinian society without missiles or aircraft, but through fear, assault, theft, deprivation, and land confiscation. They stole the land — along with its trees, stones, and water. This is a full-fledged apartheid system.”

On Friday 30th May 2025 settlers fenced off the land around Ein El Hilwe, a Palestinian community that evolved around a natural water spring (Ein El Hilwe translates as ‘sweet water’) and has lived there fore generations, using the water to sustain themselves and their animals. For years they have faces violence and harassment from Israeli settlers, especially those from Maskiyyot. The settler action on 30th May represents yet another attack on their right to exist and to survive. This is a form of illegal settlement expansion, where settlers place barbed wire or metal fences around large areas of agricultural or grazing land to prevent Palestinian owners from accessing them. The fencing of lands in the Jordan Valley by settlers is one of the methods used to gradually take control of the land.

In the village of Bardada, also in the northern Jordan Valley, settlers stole a water tank from a local Palestinian resident at 2am in the morning.

Sanctioned by the zionist government, settlers are imposing a new reality on the ground and seizing control. They are preventing herders and farmers from using their lands. They are preparing the ground for the establishment of new settlement outposts. They are expanding settler influence and connecting it to existing settlements.

We call on all international activists to support the Palestinians of the Jordan Valley who are remaining resolute and steadfast in the face of continuous violence and harassment. We appeal to you to heed the words in the call from the Popular Committees for International Popular Protection and to take whatever action you can to act against the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian People.
