Settlers in the northern Jordan Valley settlement of Mehola began construction projects on the night of 6th October.

The settlers are adding new building on the western part of the colony.

Mehola is the oldest Israeli colony in the Jordan Valley, built just after the beginning of the Israeli occupation in 1967.

Mehola is located just beside the Palestinian village of Al Farisiya which was destroyed twice last July by the Israeli bulldozers. This village is surrounded by Mehola and three other Israeli colonies.

Al Farisiya, as most of the Jordan Valley villages, has no water as most of the water wells were confiscated by Israel meanwhile the colonizers have a free access to water.

A report in the daily Israeli newspaper Haaretz said the foundations for some 350 homes had been set all over the West Bank in the 10 days following the construction freeze expiration.
