Controls strengthened in the Valley
Two young men were killed at the Hamra checkpoint in less than one week, after the Israeli army strengthened its controls over the Palestinian population entering the Valley.
On the 2nd and 8th January two young men, one from Tubas and one from Al Yamoun village, were killed in cold blood by Israeli soldiers while thhey were crossing Hamra checkpoint, on their way to the Jordan Valley.
Since then the army has made the situation impossible for the Palestinians at Hamra and Tayyaseer checkpoints, checking cars and bags and making people wait for hours sometimes.
In addition, the army is training a lot, in many places in the Valley, cutting the roads for long or short periods of time.

Around 40% of the Valley is under Israeli military area even if most of those areas are inhabited by Palestinian communities for decades.
