Brighton Jordan Valley in solidarity against Abu al Ajaj demolitions
On Saturday 24th May Brighton Jordan Valley Solidarity campaigners protested against the recent demolitions in Abel al Ajaaj at the weekly picket of Ecostream. Banners with photos of the demolitions were held up outside the shop selling settlement products for passers-by to see. Campaigners in Brighton have held weekly pickets outside the Ecostream shop since it opened in September 2012 to protest about the displacement of local Bedouin for the construction of the settlement of Maale Adumim, where the Ecostream factory is located. The campaign in Brighton is part of the global BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) Movement, which aims to promote Palestinian self-determination and expose Israeli human rights abuses in response to a call from Palestinian civil society.
