The U.S. Consulate in the Jordan Valley
20th November 2010
For the second time, the political officer of the Consulate of the United States of America visited the Palestinian Jordan Valley and met some inhabitants.
On friday, Mr.McFarland visited different places in the Jordan Valley with Jordan Valley Solidarity in order to understand the all situation.
He first visited Ein Il Hilwe, Palestinian village surrounded by Israeli colonies. He met a Palestinian Bedouin that received a 1000 NIS fine from the Israeli police because his cows crossed the street.
Then he had lunch and met villagers from Bardala, in the Northern Jordan Valley and saw the confiscated water station in the middle of the village.
Finally he visited Al Farisiya village and listened to the farmers that saw their houses destroyed twice last summer by the Israeli bulldozers. They went to see their palm trees that are dying because of the shortage of water. They also saw the Jordan Valley solidarity’s project of water pipe that was not supported by any international donors as they want to follow the Israeli regulations.
