Tuesday 4th February 2020, forces from the occupation army and the occupation government’s Mekorot company stormed the village of Bardala in the northern Jordan Valley, closing the water wells they claim to be illegal, and destroying the 700-meter water lines for farmers.

The people of Bardala had a water well before the occupation of 1967 but Mekorot closed it in 1974 in exchange for supplying the residents with water for cultivation from the Israeli water wells that the company built in the village.

The residents of the village suffer from poor access to water, which is the artery of the agricultural economy, from vegetables to animals such as sheep and cows, this escalation comes after Trump’s promise to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to support the annexation of the Valley.

The village has been exposed to violations for years and in 2018, hundreds of meters of water lines were destroyed. International institutions have not provided alternative lines.

Hence, we appeal to all officials from international institutions. And international solidarity committees. In standing with the people of the village of Bardala and the Jordan Valley specifically on the aspects that affect their daily lives, from water, education, health and housing problems within a comprehensive program

From here, we can move to support the farmers by providing a water pipeline. The farmers are the ones who protect the land and prevent it from being confiscated

We also ask all solidarity committees to contact us if there is an interest in supporting the farmers.
