Settlers attack Palestinian family in Hammamat al-Maleh
Settlers from an illegal outpost in the North Jordan Valley attacked the home of Burhan Ali Daraghmeh in the community of Hammamat al-Maleh today, 27th December 2025. The settlers attempted to force their way into Daraghmeh’s home and clashes erupted as the family attempted to defend themselves.

Daraghmeh’s daughter and two of his grandchildren were injured in the clashes, as well as one settler.
The settlers called for reinforcement, and as more settlers showed up, they started vandalising multiple homes and assaulting the women of the community. Arriving at the scene, the occupation military assisted the settlers in their attacks on the homes and prevented the Palestinian ambulance crew from Ein al-Beida from reaching the injured.
Instead of stopping the attackers, the occupation forces arrested four Palestinians from the family being attacked: Burhan Ali Zamel Daraghmeh, Suhaib Burhan Ali Daraghmeh, Abeer Hamed Aweij, and Nuha Mustafa Daraghmeh.
The settlers also stole a number of sheep from Daraghmeh’s farm during the attack.
Earlier during the day, around noon, the same settlers were harassing the residents of Ein al-Hilweh, a community that is down the hill from Hammamat al-Maleh. Residents of Ein al-Hilweh filmed the settlers and contacted the Palestinian liaison office and the Israeli police – neither of whom helped stop the settlers from approaching and harassing the community.
The day’s events began with a group of three settlers from the illegal outpost that is located opposite the illegal Israeli settlement of Maskiyot driving to Ein al-Hilweh in a Range Rover. The trio harassed the Palestinian community and were confronted by Israeli peace activists, after which the group moved to attack Daraghmeh’s home in Hamammat al-Maleh.
The residents of Ein el-Hilweh, Hammamat al-Maleh, and the surrounding communities face this kind of settler harassment and assault on their homes, livestock, and bodies on a daily basis. The settlers aim to make life in the Jordan Valley unbearable for ordinary Palestinian families, as part of a strategy of slow but steady ethnic cleansing and land annexation.
However, against a constant assault that no human being should have to face, the Palestinians of the Jordan Valley resist and remain on their land.
