On 26th December 2023, forces from the occupation army, along with officials from the Mekorot Water Control Company, stormed the village of Bardala in the northern Jordan Valley. They closed the water wells used by the farmers in the village to irrigate their crops. This is one part of their policy of water deprivation. The policy of racial discrimination in the right to water constitutes one of the most dangerous policies for Palestinians living in the Jordan Valley.

On the same day, five houses were demolished further south in the village of Furush Beit Dejan, plus two agricultural water reservoirs. Four other homes have been issued with notification that they must be vacated for demolition.

The occupation army and so-called Settlement Council have now closed the only entrance to the pastures to the east of Ain al-Hilweh, by erecting an iron gate and placing a military checkpoint at the gate to prevent Palestinian shepherds and their livestock from entering any land located east of the apartheid road, Route 60. By these means Palestinian citizens are pressurised to leave as they are prevented from sustaining themselves. Settler gangs now have full control over more than 55,000 dunums and complete control over the lands located between the apartheid Road 60 and the apartheid Road 90.

What is happening in the Jordan Valley now is a disaster for all the residents.

On 25th December, settlers stole 80 cattle from citizen Abu Mahdi Daraghmeh from Ain al-Hilweh. He has now launched an appeal for himself and his children to be protected from the settlers reported that he launched an appeal to protect him from the herds of settlers.
