Planting olive trees: resisting annexation and the wall
As the Occupation escalates its land grabs in the Jordan Valley Palestinians are coming together with international activists to challenge and resist.
On 4th March Save the Jordan Valley, the Palestinian Popular Resistance Committees, and international activists planted trees in A’tuf village, claiming our right to maintain the historical connection with our land, and protecting our land against confiscation by Occupation forces.
We all walked towards the separation ditch that isolates A’tuf village from large sections of its land and separates it from nearby villages and communities, such as Al Hadidiya, Hamsa, and Makoul. This restricts Palestinian freedom of movement and prevents no access to healthcare, water, and schools.
Occupation forces were stationed at the separation ditch with the clear intention of preventing us from accessing our land. They started to launch sound bombs and tear gas canisters at us, causing injury to some present.
Palestinians in the Jordan Valley are determined to continue our resistance, and corporation with the Popular Resistance Committees and international activists.
Our resistance is a clear message to Trump and Netanyahu that we refuse to accept their so-called ‘deal of the century’
