Occupation pursuing annexation of JV through harassment and demolitions in Khirbet Ibziq
On Wednesday morning, 4/8/2021, the Israeli occupation forces stormed Khirbet Ibziq, located northeast of Tubas in the northern Jordan Valley. Early morning, at exactly 6.00am, extensive demolition operations started in the village and continued for many hours. As usual, the demolitions affected a number of facilities in the Khirbet, including family homes, livestock shelters, water tanks, and solar cells. Th occupation forces also seized several agricultural tractors and private vehicles from the affected families in Khirbet Ibziq.
1. The family of Sayel Hussein Mahmoud Turkman, which consists of 6 members: Occupation forces confiscated 2 tents used for housing and 2 tents that were used as sheep pens, in addition to solar panels, 100 fences and a private car.
2. The family of Muhammad Mithqal Nawaf Daraghmeh, which includes 6 members: This family had 2 tents that were used for livestock, one tent which was their home and 2 solar panels confiscated.
3 . Nael Ali Khalil Harb family, a family of 8: One residential tent, two tents for livestock, the fencing of a sheep pen and one solar panel were confiscated.
4. Daas Khalil had a car confiscated.
The Israeli occupation forces are clearly aiming to drive these families from the area with the use of threats and violent demolitions. Ibziq is one of many Palestinian villages facing continuous harassment is the occupation’s plan to drive Palestinians from the area in preparation for the annexation of the Jordan Valley.
