Demolitions in the centre of Al Jiftlik village
On 29th January 2014, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) destroyed four shelters in Al Jiftlik. Eight people from two families are now homeless as a result of this destruction. The first family is Aish Ali Kabni and the second family effected is Alaa Mohammmed Kaabneh.
The two families received a demolition order two years ago. The order stated that they live in Area C and a military training area.
At 6:30 am the occupation army ordered all the people in the community to vacate their premises. These people live beside the village gas station. How can this fact justify it being a military training area!!?
Al Jiftlik village is the biggest village in the Jordan Valley, located in the middle of the Palestinian Jordan Valley. A population of 5,000 people live in this village. The area around the petrol station has been subject to countless demolitions in recent years, making the lives of those who live there precarious and vulnerable.
The army did not allow anyone to reenter the community until 9 am.
