On 28th December 2025 4 – 6 settlers from a nearby outpost trespassed on Palestinian land in Al Hadidiya and engaged in a twenty to thirty minute standoff with a Palestinian family. Settlers insulted and threatened the family and an armed settler on a quad knocked the phone out of the hands of a young Palestinian boy.

Later that evening, military and police arrived, arrested three of the Palestinians and took them to jail. The detained Palestinians described being blindfolded, bound, dragged, left outside in the rain for around six hours, verbally abused, and forced to sit next to a speaker system blaring the sounds of dogs barking. At least one individual was strangled until losing consciousness.

All three of them were eventually released. However, one individual was kept in custody several hours longer than the others and told he would receive two separate charges—one count of assaulting a settler and another of strangling a soldier. No documentation or paperwork of these charges were provided upon release. Instead, he was told he would receive a phone call later on to inform him of a court date. This individual’s family was forced to pay a 2000 shekel bail for his release. No documentation or receipt was provided for this bail payment, indicating that the payment may have been a form of extortion.

This is part of the ongoing attacks against Palestinians in Al Hadidiya and the rest of the Jordan Valley – settlers have repeatedly trespassed on the property since in attempts to intimidate the family.
